Plant Sales

Planting Group

Ballarat Community Garden has a Planting Group whose role is to propagate plants of all kinds to sell, and raise spring vegetable seedlings for our annual Spring Vegetable and Plant Sale. The proceeds from these sales support the running cost of the garden. The Planting Group is a group of dedicated gardeners who work each Monday morning to generate plant stock to sell. This group is Coordinated by Sandy Anderson and meets each Monday ‘come rain, hail or public holiday’.

Annual Vegetable Seedling Sale

In preparation for our Spring & Summer growing season, the Planting Group of the BCG holds an annual Spring Vegetable and Plant sale. This sale is usually held from 9am to 12pm on the last Saturday in October, and is a one-day event open to members of the public to purchase vegetable seedlings grown from locally saved seeds.

Vegetable seedlings include many varieties of tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchinis, and more. As October approaches, keep an eye out for more information on the signs on our gates, on our News & Events page, and the Friends of the Ballarat Community Garden Facebook page, Facebook Marketplace and other related sites. Varieties being offered for sale are usually advertised so you can make a list ahead of the day!
